The Department of Urology and Andrology at the Second External Division of Qiandongnan Prefecture Hospital is a comprehensive clinical department integrating medical care, education, and research. It has 52 open beds and comprises 2 attending physicians, 1 associate chief physician, 4 resident physicians, 3 practicing resident doctors, and 2 master’s degree candidates. The department also boasts 2 state-level outstanding talents and experts under provincial administration, along with 13 dedicated nurses. Additionally, it serves as a member unit of the Urology Branch of the Guizhou Medical Association, the Guizhou Sexual Medicine Association, and the Andrology Professional Committee of the Guizhou Association of Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine.
The department is equipped with advanced equipment including the Olympus laparoscopic system, an electronic ureteroscope, a plasma prostate resectoscope, the HuaZhong Holmium laser lithotripsy system, the Shenda cystoscope, and a sperm analysis system.
The multidisciplinary team has collectively published 109 academic papers in renowned domestic medical journals, including *Chinese Medical Journal*, *Chinese Journal of Urology*, *International Journal of Urology*, *Chinese Journal of Surgery*, *Shandong Medicine*, *Chinese Journal of Experimental Traditional Chinese Medicine*, *Journal of Sexual Medicine*, *Chinese Journal of Andrology*, as well as publications in *Guizhou Medicine*, *Sichuan Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Liaoning Journal of Traditional Chinese Medicine*. Additionally, the team was awarded one special research project for high-level talents by the Organization Department of the Guizhou Provincial Party Committee. Nine of their research projects—such as "Orthotopic Urinary Diversion Using an Ileal Conduit After Total Cystectomy for Invasive Bladder Cancer," "Retroperitoneal Laparoscopy in the Management of Urological Diseases," and "Penile Reconstruction"—have each received local or provincial-level awards for scientific and technological achievements.
Our department excels in performing cutting-edge procedures such as flexible ureteroscopy with holmium laser lithotripsy for ureteral stones, percutaneous nephrolithotomy using pneumatic or holmium laser techniques for kidney stone removal, plasma enucleation and transurethral resection of the prostate, retroperitoneal laparoscopic pyeloplasty, laparoscopic adrenal tumor removal, open and endoscopic renal stone extraction, as well as renal cystectomy and nephrectomy—techniques that are among the best in the province. We also offer advanced treatments like primary one-stage repair for congenital hypospadias and radical surgery for malignant testicular tumors. Equipped with state-of-the-art medical facilities, our dedicated team of urologists and general practitioners is committed to providing patients with exceptional care—combining expert diagnostic and therapeutic skills, compassionate attention, and personalized, first-class nursing services—to help relieve their pain and restore their health.

Installation Equipment
1. Male Sexual Function Tester
Integrating advanced technologies such as neurology, psychology, automatic control theory, ultrasonic technology, and fully automated digital computer displays, this system offers a comprehensive range of diagnostic tools, including sexual psychological assessments, neuroelectrophysiological testing, blood flow Doppler analysis, nocturnal penile tumescence (NPT) monitoring, and BIO-sensitive threshold detection—making it ideally suited for the broad-scale evaluation of male sexual dysfunction.
Detection range: Suitable for clinical diagnosis of psychogenic sexual dysfunction, as well as organic sexual dysfunctions such as neuropathic and vascular sexual disorders.
Detection function principle:
Neurophysiological Electrophysiological Examination -- Stimulating the dorsal penile nerve and measuring the reflex arc's conduction velocity and amplitude using electromyography/evoked potential techniques allows assessment of nerve conduction function, thereby enabling localization diagnosis of neurological disorders.
Blood Flow Doppler Measurement -- Ultrasound waves are transmitted into the human body's blood vessels via an ultrasound probe, and the echoes are captured by the same probe. This allows for monitoring of the penile cavernosal artery while simultaneously recording systolic and diastolic blood pressure. A computer then automatically calculates the Penile Flow Index (PFI), providing data such as peak blood flow velocity and mean blood flow rate, which helps determine whether erectile dysfunction is caused by vascular abnormalities.
Sexual Psychology Assessment and Diagnosis -- Utilizing internationally recognized sexual psychology questionnaires, we can gain insight into patients' actual behaviors during sexual activity, assess the severity and underlying causes of their sexual dysfunction, and provide valuable guidance for developing effective treatment plans.
Nocturnal Penile Tumescence (NPT) Monitoring -- In sleep mode, the HOLTER (data storage recorder) continuously monitors and records the number of penile erections, along with their duration, length, circumference, and changes in blood volume. It can also connect to a host device that automatically generates corresponding charts, helping clinicians accurately identify the type of erectile dysfunction a patient is experiencing. This method is currently the most effective way to distinguish between psychogenic and organic causes of erectile dysfunction.
BIO-sensitive threshold detection - By measuring the bio-vibration sensation threshold in areas such as the penile glans using the Penile Biothesiometer, this tool provides a quantitative assessment of the sensitivity of sensory nerves in these regions, evaluating both the conduction function of sex-related nerves and the central nervous system's role in regulating sexual arousal. Additionally, when combined with penile Doppler blood flow testing and paired with specialized evaluation analysis software, this product enables rapid and precise, comprehensive differential diagnosis of male sexual dysfunction—making it one of the most direct and effective tools currently available for assessing male sexual health issues.
